Regular full-time active employees who work at least 30 hours per week for the Company can participate in most of our programs on the first of the month following their eligibility period. The summary below provides an overview of Arch's benefits package. Detailed descriptions of the benefits are described in the Employee Handbook and in the Plan Descriptions.
If you are a full-time employee and have been with Arch at least 90 days prior to the holiday, you are eligible for holiday pay (8 regular hours) on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the company elects to close on the day after a holiday (i.e. Thanksgiving Friday) the Company will pay one-half day holiday pay (4 regular hours) to non-exempt employees for this day.
You will earn vacation time based upon your length of service with the Company. Arch uses a calendar year (Jan 1. – Dec. 31) as its vacation year. During your first full or partial calendar year you will accrue vacation based upon length of service. After the first full calendar year with Arch, you will earn vacation at a rate of .84 day each month (10 days total). After your fourth full calendar year you will earn vacation at the rate of 1.25 days per month (15 days total).
After meeting the eligibility requirements you can enroll in the group medical insurance plan offered by the Company to your location. Currently Arch contributes approximately 70% to both the single and dependent costs of each employee that elects HMO coverage. Your contribution is taken out of the weekly payroll and can be deducted on a pre-tax basis.
A discount plan is available through the medical insurance for expenses associated with routine eye examinations, contact lenses, and glasses.
Arch offers dental coverage to employees on a voluntary basis. Employees who elect dental coverage are responsible for 100% of the costs. The plans offered around the country are normally an In Network Only (INO) plan and a PPO plan.
Arch provides $25,000 of Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance to you at no cost. In addition, employees can purchase additional life insurance for themselves, their spouse, and their children through payroll deductions.
This program is available on the first of the month following 6 months of service with Arch Aluminum (and any month thereafter). Arch will match 50% of the first 5% of income that you invest in the 401(k) program.
